Lot 19 A 1798 pattern Napoleonic War era Scottish infantry officer’s basket hilt broadsword. Double edged tapering blade with fuller to both sides. Cast brass basket hilt with bun shaped pommel, and a grooved fish skin grip. No discernible makers mark, Notes: pattern used from 1798 - 1828. Approximately 98cm length. Condition: generally good and solid. The hilt retains a good shape, with good patination to the metal. There is a fracture to one of the brass bars, but this is likely from service
