Lot 31 A British 1803 pattern George III Napoleonic War era infantry officers sword. Brass open work guard and backpiece, with lions head pommel. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Curved single edged steel blade with flat spine. The blade is faintly engraved with the royal coat of arms, crown and GR cypher for George III. Approximately 74.5cm length. Condition: whilst original, the sword is at fault. The brass guard is folded over and fractured to one end, plus the knuckle guard is missing.
