Lot 96 A 19th century South African throwing spear, possibly a Zulu Iklwa. Polished wooden shaft with flared end, and simple ring decoration. Hand forged metal blade of flattened diamond form, with raised median ridge to each side. The blade is attached to the shaft by means of a strip of hide that has been crudely stitched into place. The hide wrap is in turn secured by twisted wire bindings to the top and bottom of the hide section. Approximately 121cm overall length, blade length 26.8cm. Condi
