Lot 118 Scarce WW1 German Mauser ersatz bayonet. All steel construction, with push button release catch on the pommel. Single edged steel blade with fuller to both sides. The cross guard has the distinctive open muzzle ring, which allowed to be used on captured French Lebel or Russian Mosin-Nagant rifles. Complete with steel scabbard and leather frog, the latter dated 1931. The bayonet appears to be undated, but there is a faint inspection stamp to the spine of the blade. Approximately 47cm length
