Lot 48 Highly decorative Saxon copper alloy strap end. A large example with convex sides tampering to a zoomorphic terminal at one end. Below the mounting holes appears to be an image of a shield with a chevron striped pattern. A large central cross breaks the item into four quarters with what appears to be possibly snakes inscribed. Stunning item undamaged other than a bend across the middle (no crack or fracture)
