Lot 73 of 295: Autograph letter from Beryl Formby, typed on Beryldene headed paper and signed in black ink, addressed to Victor Murray of Lozells, Birmingham, no date [c.1937-38]. In the letter, Beryl politely informs Mr Murray that George Formby is unable to grant him permission to perform his songs in public because 'the Associated Copyright people...would come down on you like a ton of hot bricks'. Shortly before the Second World War, Victor Murray was entertaining punters at the Crompton Arms in Handsworth
