Lot 38 of 739: Romano-British Face Brooch. Circa 1st-2nd century AD. Copper-alloy, 6.28 grams. 36.66 mm. A very interesting plate brooch, an ovoid body with four circular lugs (one missing). One of the remaining lugs has retained its original yellow enamel. The centre of the piece has a three-dimensional face of Celtic style. Ref: Hattatt's Ancient Brooches. fig1656.
