Jan Vallance (The Art Boat) Framed Original Painting This attractive painting is entitled "Bridge Hole 8" and is an original acrylic on canvas painting, by artist Jan Vallance, a member of the Guild of Waterways Artists . It is painted on a square canvas measuring 203mm x 203 mm (8" x 8") with a 1" deep white tray frame. (framed size approx. 230mm x 230mm ( 9" x 9"). It is signed by the artist. Jan says her inspiration behind the Bridge Hole paintings is her love for canal bridges with their varying shapes and sizes and different purposes. She feels that when she passes through them she is leaving one world and entering another and hopes her paintings reflect that. This particular bridge is on the Macclesfield canal, close to where Jan lives and works on her narrowboat, also known as The Art Boat.
