The IWA De Maré Cup This is a one off! The De Maré Cup was only ever awarded once, in 1950 at the first National Rally & Festival of Boats at Market Harborough. It was presented by celebrated photographer Eric de Maré, after whom the cup was named. De Mare was a big fan of the waterways. In 1948, he boated a dozen of the English canals during a 600 mile tour, where he photographed the landscapes, buildings and people that he met along the way. In 1950, the same year that he presented this trophy, his photographs were included in a book called The Canals of England. It was a real coup for IWA to have him at its first National Rally. The cup measures 15 cm. Sadly it is not hallmarked and has sustained a dent to the stem.
