Lot 5 of 442: Rare Iron Age Spear Ferrule.  Circa 2nd - 1st century BC. Size: 37.00 mm. A cast bronze ferrule of an elaborate design. The ferrule was the end terminal of a spear and in many cases usually quite plain. The example has a circular stepped collar at the butt end that joins a conical neck that terminates with a banded decorative collar and a plain concave disk. Ref: for similar example see.
