Lot 35 of 442: Roman Brooch.    Circa 1st century AD. Size: 36.82 mm. A finely made example of a Dolphin type brooch. The bow is deeply grooved along the top and sides forming four ribs. The wings that hold the pin bar are decorated with vertical flutes between rope style bands. Complete with pin. Ref: R. Hattatt, 1982.  Ancient and Romano-British Brooches. p. 65. fig, 18.
