Lot 65 of 442: Zoomorphic Tether Ring.  Circa 12th-15th century AD. Copper-alloy, 51mm x 28mm x 17mm, 22.2g. A very unusual piece formed of an open circular frame with a large button type fitting on side, opposite is a stylised bird with its head facing down. References for this exact type of fitting are very scarce, some suggest they're baldric fittings dating from the Iron Age through to the later medieval period.
