Lot 101 of 442: Medieval Inscribed Buckle Plate.    Circa 13th - 14th century AD. Size: 57.35 mm. A gilt copper-alloy buckle plate with three intact rivets. The piece is decorated on three sides with a series of chevrons and alternating square panels with every other one enclosing a cross over saltire motif. The last side has an inscription although this appears to be very blundered. ADAV + SII?. A similar but less ornate example can be seen on the PAS database. Ref: LVPL-CB4582
