Lot 127 of 442: Ancient Greek, Attica, Athens Tetradrachm.  Circa 490-430 BC. Silver, 17.4 grams. Obverse: Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette. Rev. A?E Owl standing right, head facing; to left, olive sprig and crescent; all within incuse square. Ref: BMC 62. Very fine with lovely old cabinet tone. Purchased in the early 60s from B. A. Seaby, with old ticket.
