Lot 131 of 442: CALABRIA, Tarentum. AR Nomos.  Circa 280-272 BC. Silver, 6.6 grams. Obverse:  Youth on horseback right, crowning self with wreath in right hand, holding reins in left; I? to upper left; IA?O and Ionic capital below horse. Reverse: Phalanthos, holding aphlaston in right hand and distaff in left; TAPA[?] below, AN? to upper right. Ref: Vlasto 803; HN Italy 1014. Very fine with nice tone, bought in the early 60s from B. A. Seaby, with old ticket.
