Lot 216 of 381: An incomplete cast copper-alloy harness fitting or mount of probable late Iron Age or earlier Roman date, c. 100 BC-AD 100. The mount takes the form of three conjoined open rings (two worn through), at the centre of which is a prominent oval protuberance that probably represented an anthropomorphic mask when unworn. Width at maximum: c. 28mm. Provenance: from the collection of a metal detectorist.
