Lot 224 of 381: A cast copper-alloy anthropomorphic mount dating to the Roman period, c. AD 43-410. The object takes the form of the goddess Minerva, rendered from the shoulders up. The face depicted realistically with eyes, nose, mouth and hairline clearly defined (though now partially obscured by corrosion products), she wears her characteristic Corinthian style helmet with a curving, high crest.
