Lot 298 of 381: A complete cast copper-alloy vessica shaped personal seal matrix dating to the Medieval period, probably c. 1250-1350. The matrix takes the form of a pointed oval, its upper face having a projecting rounded suspension lug at one end with a coincident midrib running down its length. The underside of the seal demonstrates the design of a priest's head facing right, surrounded by the following inscription: *S'.DECANI:DE:ELhAM: (Seal of the Dean of Elham).
