Lot 299A of 381: A complete cast copper-alloy zoomorphic vessel spout dating to the Medieval period, c. 1400-1500. The spout (probably originating from an ewer or laver) takes the form of a dog's head, the ears, brow and nose rendered quite realistically. From the dog's mouth, a projecting pentagonal tube represents the 'business end' of the object, while extending from the neck is a flared, drooping, ogival element which demarcates the original interface between the spout and original vessel.
