Lot 201 of 1846: Medieval Gold Ring  Circa, 14th century AD. Gold, 2.4 g, 19 mm. Internal: 17 mm. A band formed of a series of lozenges with crimped sections between. Each lozenge is engraved either with a letter of the inscription or a stylised flower motif. The inscription reads: 'en bon joie' (in good joy). Ref: Scarisbrick & Henig. Finger Rings, p.46. plt. 14.
