Lot 220 of 1846: Tudor Devotional Hat Pin  Circa, 16th century AD. Silver, 2.56 g, 14.87 mm. A beautiful silver with gold git hat pin or badge. The face of the badge shows a depiction of three figures. The centre figure appears to be being slain by the figures at his side, each brandishing a sword. Most likely a representation of Thomas Becket being murdered by the kings knights. Ref: B. Read. Hooked-Clasps & Eyes. p.191-195. From an Essex Jewellery collection.
