Lot 73 of 796: Anglo-Saxon Strap-End.  Circa, 8th-9th century AD. Copper-alloy, 7.37 grams. 43.68 mm. Thomas Class A1. Decorated with a central panel depicting an interlace beast and niello inlay. The terminal is in the style of an animal head depicted with large round ears and incised convex lines to indicate the eyes, eyebrows and snout. Ref: G. Thomas.
