Lot 170 An unusual item in the form of a velvet cap, with an early Tudor design, the item is made of burgundy-coloured velvet to frame the face, the item is wire and decorated with gold braiding, in the form of a criss-cross design. There are still tiny pearls decorating the frame, but quite a few are missing, the interior of the cap is very worn. However, I would say it was used for a pageant or theatre, probably circa 1700/1800s.
