Lot 95 of 456: An 1827 pattern Royal Navy officers sword, named to a Victoria Cross winner, Rear Admiral, Claude Congreve Dobson (1885-1940). This is a fine quality and scarce Royal Navy dress sword by Gieve Ltd of Portsmouth. Gilt brass hilt has the usual locking folding guard and lions head pommel, plus the Kings crown and fouled anchor motif of George V  Shagreen grip with wire twist binding.
