Lot 1013 of 217: Continental Iron Age, an inscribed southern Gallic copper-alloy probable potin/unit inspired by official Massalian issues, dating c. 250-150 BC. Rudd's 'Massalia Bull MA' type. Obverse: no legend, helmeted head of Apollo left. Reverse: bull butting right, crude monogram 'MA' above. About Fine, pleasing greenish patina with some pitting.
