Lot 1034 of 217: Roman, silver denarius struck for Caracalla (AD 198-217) dating to c. AD 206. Mint of Rome. Obverse: ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, laureate head right. Reverse: PONTIF TR P VIIII COS II, Mars standing left holding spear and leaning on shield. About Very Fine, though of bright appearance and probably cleaned. Diameter: 19mm. Weight: 2.91g. RIC IV, pt 1, no. 83.  Provenance: ex A Smith collection.
