Lot 1036 of 217: Roman, a silver denarius struck for Julia Domna (AD 196-212) under Septimius Severus, dating to c. AD 203. Mint of Rome. Obverse: IVLIA AVGVSTA, draped bust right. Reverse: PIETAS PVBLICAE, Pietas standing left veiled and draped, arms raised. Nearly Very Fine, edge knock at c. 11 o'clock on obverse face with slight flan crack that shows on reverse, hint of golden hues surrounding portrait. Diameter: c. 20mm. Weight: 3.33g. RIC IV, pt. 1, no. 574.  Provenance: ex A Smith collection.
