Lot 1041 of 217: Roman, a copper-alloy sestertius struck for Marcus Aurelius as Augustus (AD 161-180) dating to c. AD 168-169. Obverse: M ANTONINVS AVG ARM PARTH MAX, laureate head right. Reverse: FORT RED TR POT XX III IMP V COS III S-C, Fortuna seated left holding rudder and cornucopia. Mint of Rome. Nearly Very Fine, with a slightly coppery patina. Diameter: 31.9mm. Weight: 25.95g. RIC vol. III, no. 962. Provenance: found Thatcham, Berkshire, 2012. Recorded on the PAS as BH-A7E374.
