Roman Vilgushynskyi, was born on April 30, 1963 in the village of Yablunivtsi, Buchatsky district, Ternopil region (now Yazlovets, Ukraine). In 1984-1989, he studied at the Lviv Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts (specialty: artistic ceramics). Lives in Ternopil since 1989. Works in the field of monumental and easel sculpture. Ukrainian sculptor and artist. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1994. Honored Artist of Ukraine (2009). Associate Professor of the Department of Fine Arts, Design and Teaching Methods of Ternopil National Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Hnatyuk. Personal exhibitions - in Ternopil (1996, 1998). Participant of exhibitions in Ternopil, Kyiv, Lviv and other cities. Among the most famous sculptures of Roman Vilgushynskyi: - monument to Patriarch Yosif the Blind - a monument to Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church, Metropolitan of Halytskyi and Archbishop of Lviv, head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Yosif in the city of Ternopil; - monument to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred in Ternopil (Bronze, granite, copper, 2016); - sculptural composition for Ukrainian Jerusalem "Angel", Mariinsky Spiritual Center, p. Zarvantsia, Ternopil region. (Kamin vapniak, 2017). As a teacher, he teaches students drawing, sculpture and plastic anatomy, small forms of plastic. Actively participated in the opening and implementation of the new educational program "Fine art, decorative art, restoration". In January 2020, by decree of the President of Ukraine, Roman Vilgushynskyi was awarded the honorary title "People's Artist of Ukraine"
