Lot 2 of 162: A WW1 death plaque, named to Gilbert Lewis Brown. Notes: Gilbert L. Brown (erroneously called Browne on the CWGC website), was a native of Minchampton in Gloucestershire. He enlisted at Cirencester into the 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment with the service number 117. He first disembarked for service in France & Flanders on September 11th 1914, and was killed in action less than 2 months later on November 7th 1914. He is entitled to the Mons Star and Clasp trio.
