Lot 7 A vintage French Legion D’Honneur officer’s badge, dating from the 3rd Republic era of 1870-1951, with the example likely dating from the WW1 era. The medal is of standard form, with a central gilt boss with a blue enamelled ‘Republic Francais 1870’ band. Flanked by 5 white enamel arms in the form of a 10 point Maltese Cross. The suspension ring is formed from finely enamelled laurel leaves, onto which is fitted a red silk ribbon with the rosette of an officer. Condition: generally fair. So
