Lot 36 of 597: Anglo-Saxon Cloisonné Mount. A circular panel filled with cloisonné enamel. The copper-alloy panel is formed of a flat back plate mounted with a raised bezel. Traces of gilding an all surfaces may suggest it was an insert to a pendant or brooch. The face of the piece is beautifully detailed with red, blue and yellow enamel forming an eight pointed star motif with a central square. Weight: 3.45 grams. Size: 24.30 mm. Reference: Examples of.
