Lot 38 of 597: Large Anglo-Saxon buckle plate, Circa 7th-8th century. A heavily silvered cast bronze buckle plate. The body of the piece is triangular with two circular terminals that merge in to one forming a stylised interpretation of the terminal seen on many cruciform brooches of the period. Within the main body is a recessed panel detailed with multiple circular and pellet motifs, this is repeated on each of the circular terminals. On the reverse are fixing points for the buckle and leather strap. Size: 4
