Lot 34 of 574: Anglo-Saxon Mount. Circa 6th-8th century AD. Copper-alloy, 12.75 grams. 32.56 mm. A bronze mount or roundel with niello inlay, highly detailed with entwined tendrils and stylised animal heads around a central boss. The reverse has a central flat piece of an attachment or suspension loop held with a single rivet suggesting the original use for the piece was a pendant or pin head.
