Manuscript romantic verse with central ink & watercolour motif with love hearts and applied border, paper bearing manufacturer's watermark (Hagar & Son 1825), 'Old custom tells us that we may / Write to our sweethearts on this day...Then with this my name I sign / And so remain your Valentine.'
