Lot 94 A 19th century South African throwing spear, possibly a Zulu Iklwa. Polished wooden shaft with flared and shaped end. Hand forged diamond section blade, with raised median ridge to both sides. The blade is secured to the shaft with what appears to be a woven hide, with this also being secured by woven metal bindings to the top and bottom. There is a letter P scratched into the wood near the end of the shaft. Approximately 130cm overall length, blade length 22.8cm. Condition: generally very
