Lot 53 of 442: Anglo-Saxon Chip-Carved Terminal.   Circa 6th - 7th Century AD. Size: 40.68 mm. A knop or wing from a large florid cruciform brooch that has been re purposed as a pendant or mount with two holes being added at the top. The piece is of the finest quality with heavy gold plating and finely executed detail. Depicted in the centre is a stylised human face and at each side, a stylised eagle head facing upwards. Ref: G.
