Lot 54 of 442: Anglo-Saxon Pressblech Die.   Circa 8th - 9th century. Size: 32.36 mm. A cast bronze triangular die used for making thin sheet and foil mounts. The design depicts a male face with beard and moustache. Possibly representing Wodan?. A rare and very interesting piece with very few examples known. Ref: see PAS, DUR-3C5813, YORYM-E1EE28 and LIN-CD5B11 .
