Lot 255 of 381: A complete cast copper-alloy detachable side knop from a florid cruciform brooch of Early Anglo-Saxon attribution, dating c. 525-575. The knop is broadly rectangular in plan, its front face depicting a heavily stylised chip-carved anthropomorphic mask in Salin's style 1, with curved brows, bulbous pellet edges and an apparent moustache all visible.
