Lot 1002 of 217: British Late Iron Age, an inscribed gold quarter stater of the Southern Region/Atrebates and Regni, struck under Verica (AD 10-40) and dating c. AD 10-40. Rudd’s ‘Verica Little Horse Rearing’ type. Obverse: inscription COM F inside rectangular tablet, single pellet-in-ring above and below. Reverse: horse prancing right on exurgal line, inscription ‘VI’ above. Very Fine. Rare, well centred dies. Diameter: 10mm. Weight: 1.15g. ABC 1199, BMC 1179-1206.
